Vacation!
I won’t be blogging for a week and a half or so because I’ll be away on vacation! I’m going to California with my mom.
The inspiration behind this trip was to attend a taping of Conan, which is something I’ve dreamed about doing for a really long time. I’ll be attending the August 6th taping, so if you’re in Canada, you can record the episode at 2 am (central time) on August 7th on Comedy Network (CTV usually airs it too, but isn’t because of the Olympics). In America, Conan airs on TBS.
We will also visit Disneyland, Universal Studios, and the San Diego zoo. 11 years ago, my family went to Florida to visit Disney World so it feels like it’s about time I experience Disneyland, as well. I’m very excited to see Los Angeles and Hollywood, for obvious reasons. There is so much cinematic history in Los Angeles and as a film fan, I’m eager to see and experience everything.
I’ll be taking plenty of photos, and I’ll be sharing the best ones here when I return. I’ll tweet occasionally while I’m away, so if you want to follow my experiences in “real time”, follow me: @missJenh.
Oh, I am SO jealous!! I know you are going to have an AMAZING time! California Adventure just finished their make over, that is all 1920s and 30s inspired LA and not to mention Cars Land!! Be sure to make it to Grauman’s Chinese Theater for the hand prints and foot prints! It’s been AGES since I’ve been to Universal. I know it’s changed some over the years (I could rant endlessly about what they did behind the Bates Motel set…) so I look forward to your pictures and stories! And regarding Conan! That is SUPER exciting!! Have a safe trip and I look forward to your tweets!!
@Janey
Thanks Janey! I really hope to make it to California Adventure. It all depends on whether we decide to spend one day or two days at Disneyland. My mom is far more keen on seeing Universal Studios as opposed to Disneyland so we may decide to do just the one day at Disney, which means we may not make it to California Adventure. She does know about Cars Land, though, and would like to see it, and the 20s/30s makeover sounds right up my alley, too!
I’m also eager to see Universal Studios. I went to the one in Florida and this one sounds FAR better. Plus I’m more of a film fan now than I was when I was 11, though my initial trip to Florida is one of the things that really started me on the path to becoming a major film fan. I do think I’ll have far more appreciation for Universal AND Disneyland than I did when I was 11 in Florida.
